All the comforts of home (NOT)

Last night I worked the night shift at the hospital, something that is now a part of my weekly routine. Since I am only part time, I can get by with just a little sleep, now and then. The last time I worked nights, I didn't sleep at all the next day, because of our bathroom remodel and the plumber visit. But this morning I was T-i-r-e-d with a capital T. I needed to drop the kids at school, and to optimize my sleep time, I took my pillow and blanket from home, and decided I would just stay in the parking lot and sleep in my car for 2 hours. I was sitting in the drop off line, already dozing, while waiting for them to come collect the kids........i could not wait to take my nap!! Let me tell you, it was not as restful as I had hoped. I had 2 wake-up calls coming at 11:30 (thank you Kathy and mom), so all I needed to do was close my eyes and enter sleep heaven. I kept waking up every couple minutes to check see if anyone was around me and looking at me. I couldn't get comfortable (HOW do ppl LIVE in their cars???) God Bless them!! I felt cramped and confined, but it did feel great to refresh my body a little! No wonder people who work the night shift full time all their lives, live 10yrs less than the average person. I will so look forward to my king size bed tonight and all the comforts of home!

Oh Carol that is such a night shift thing to do. you poor girl!!! I have been known to do the same thing but never thought to bring my pillow. Its only embarassing when someone comes and taps on your window and wakes to to be sure you are ok lol...
The thing about us part time night shift girls is the flip flop of sleep and never really knowing the right time to sleep and how much...
It is an age old secret that I just cannot find the answer to...
Great job with the walking

(IN)COURAGE -SO great...check it out!
