urgent prayer request

My friend Laurie has been heroicly battling MS the past few years. She's been a wheelchair for some time now and keeps getting infections from other "complications" of the MS. She is in surgery right now and has been on the table too long already. Please pray for healing for her right now. She knows this is all for His glory.......but.......thanks for your prayers and I'll keep you posted.

Scrapbookin' Saturday

The kids and I had a very crafty morning. We started working on their Disney/Florida books. We are not quite halfway done, boy it takes longer than you think. Chase is doing his all by himself and really doing a great job. He is very artistic. Brooke is helping me do hers by placing cool disney stickers in just the right spots, to complete each page. Hope everyone is enjoying some good family time this long holiday weekend!

Pictures in Print

I did something the past 2 days that I haven't done in about a year!!! I actually ordered pictures from Walgreens......you know the ones you can actually HOLD in your hands and look at instead of just on the computer. I got my new digital camera about a year ago, which i absolutely LOVE. I can upload my pics from the camera straight to my computer...the only problem is, that's where they end up staying! Well Walgreens emailed me saying they were having a great sale on prints...10cents a piece.....so I acted, and got all the florida trip prints made. Feels great!! I even got a book made on shutterfly, because they were having an amazing sale too. Very good. Before our trip, my sister and I found 2 cute Disney cropping books at Hobby Lobby, so maybe this weekend we'll start putting those together.

Brookie

Today we went up to Brooke's school to meet her new teachers and to see her new room. She starts after Labor day. We are so excited for this year because one of my best friends from highschool, Susie, is one of her teachers. Should be a fun year!!! Brooke has definately lost that todler look.......her and chase look sooooo much alike. She is turning into a beautiful, sweet little girl!

The world is good again

Okay, before I even start this post, let me confess.......My name is Carol, and I'm a Diet soda -holic. Those of you who know me, this is already common knowledge!! Well every morning rain or shine, I go thru the McDonalds drive-thru (yes, the girls and I there are "friends" now. One girl had a baby another's brother was in an accident and has been in rehab, but better now.......you get the picture. I know these McD workers toooo well.) Anyway...Yesterday I approached the order screen and ordered my 'Usual'. An unfamiliar voice said, "that will be $1.89" WHAT????!!! Okay, just to fill you in, the Glorious HUGO sized soda has been .89 for the summer, then eventually they bumped it up to .99. that was fine. But NOT BACK TO NORMAL PRICE..............NOOOOOOOOO!!! I got a large size instead, I can't pay 1.89 for my soda every am. Well, i told everyone I came in contact with about the tragedy in my life, my sister, mom and dad, the girls at work and of course Mike got an earful. I just told myself, well, I guess I will just have to make due with a small (maybe a medium on the mornings after I work til 4am) from now on. So, today I pulled up to the order screen and ordered my small soda. This time a familiar voice recognized my voice and said"dont you want a Hugo??" I replied, NO! They raised the price. She said, "NO they didnt" What?!!!! At that moment the heavens opened, the sun shone in my sunroof and the world was good again!! Come to find out, yesterdays girl was a fill in who didnt know what was up......the price is still .99 And my "friend" told me to question any worker who tries to sell my hugo to me for full price. AWESOME. Well, i've bored you all enough with this story. I will go for now, besides, my hugo is getting watery!!

Baking Fun

The kids and I had a great time this afternoon being little chefs. We made these lovely chocolate chip muffins. Chase did an awesome job cracking the eggs!! He also measured out the oil, while Brooke measured out water and dumped the pack of dry mix into the bowl. They both took turns mixing and spooning the batter into the muffin tins....fun times! Here's our creation.....DO NOT look to closely at the inside of my oven, remember we aren't supposed to judge others:) They taste very delicious too. Do muffins count as a nutritional dinner??? We had milk with them!

My fabulous FOURTH grader!!

Today is Chase's first day of a new school year.........wow, summer went tooo fast, yet at times not fast enough! We had a FULL summer break, but now it's back to school. Chase does love school and is a great student! He especially loves writing and reading and art. We got to visit his classroom and meet his new teacher yesterday afternoon. Today, was bring your parents to school day. So Brooke and I spent the morning learning all the fun things Westridge does with the kids. Westridge really is a great school. They really want the parents involvement and promote a caring environment for the kids. It is nice to get back into a routine with school and I know Chase secretly loves being back in the classroom too!

Trying to walk by faith......

"For we walk by faith, not by sight" 2Corinthians5-7 Lord, you know I am trying to do this.....it is sooooo hard sometimes. I know from my past experiences that You are always there, and You always know what we need, even before we know we'll need it. Then WHY is it still hard to know without a doubt, that you will once again provide! The words,"oh ye of little faith", keep entering my mind. You are testing me yet again, aren't you.....I keep trying to fix it MY way ( or at least pretend to). YOU are in control of it all. Why is so hard to just give it all over to You? Thank you for ALWAYS being with us, even when it feels like we are all alone in this crazy life.
My mind has also been filled with thoughts of my co-worker, Jean........thank you, Lord for the opportunity to talk with her..........I can't imagine going through this life without knowing you, like she and so many do. Her strong denial of You has brought me closer to You. Thankful that You have filled me with Your Holy Spirit. Please lift the veil from her eyes and heart.

finally.....

Alright, Alright.....I was sooo good at blogging in Florida, but haven't done a single entry as you can see, since arriving home!! Well, we brought more than t-shirts home as souvineers-sp? I brought a very special gift home for myself.....a miserable summer cold!! The flight home was the COMPLETE opposite of our enjoyable "to" flight. I just dont have the strenghth to relive the whole experience again.....but I will say it was the Orlando airport, not really the plane itself. One of the only bad things about the flight was the descent....felt like knives being jammed in my ears bc of my cold.
Anyway. This blog title it 2fold...finally blogging. Also, finally got my suitcase unpacked. Reasons it took soooooooooo long to get my suitcase off my kitchen floor:
1. Our luggage didn't take the same plane as we did!!(BIG sigh)
2. Left for a womans retreat the next day (suitcase didnt arrive till late night before)
3. I was very drained from trip and being sick with terrible head cold.
4. Came home on Sat pm from said retreat....more sick...went to bed
5.. Woke up Sunday am with migraine from lying around so much bc of cold. spent the day in bed
6.. FINALLY, Monday morning, exactly5 days after trip ended, my suitcase is empty, I did the dirty laundry and it's put away and the house is starting to feel better and so am I.

Yes Julie, you had every right to razz me about my lack of bloggin this week, and thanks to you, I got it done! Hey, I got my play list ready to go....but cannot figure where to paste it to!!! Help!
