WHAT AN AWESOME SURPRISE!!!

Today I had an AWESOME day.....I was given a SURPRISE 40TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!! My family (those in town), all my friends, and all my close neighbors were there to surprise me at a local Pizza place. I thought I was meeting my parents for lunch after church.....but walked in....in shock...to a room full of loved ones. Everywhere I looked I saw a face of someone very special to me, and it took awhile for it to register what was going on!!! My sister Kathy, I'm told, was the mastermind behind all this.........She has gone WAY OVER THE TOP FOR MY 40TH!!! I am so blessed to have her for a sister and friend. I can't imagine how many phone calls and arrangements went into pulling this event off!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. When everyone sang happy birthday to me, there was such a powerful sense of love from everyone, it brought tears to my eyes...How blessed can one person's life be????? These are the moments that make life. I will remember it forever!!

looking back at.....40!!!!

I have been friends with my 2 girlfriends, Susan and Susie since junior high. We all turned the BIG 4-0 in Feb and March. So in honor of that milestone and the fact that we've been friends sooo long, I made a special birthday dvd for them. Here's a few pics from it.........(keep in mind a lot of this occured in the 80's, hence the lovely hairstyles!!)

I Love My Job!!!

I just came off working the night shift at the hospital. Mike and I passed in the night (at 6;30 am to be exact). I actually like working the night shift....it messes with your body - esp. your stomach - but the hospital is much calmer at night. You can still be crazy busy but there's not as many visitors, and other support staff there... anyway, I do love my job caring for new moms and dads and their precious newborns!!! What other job allows you to care for the sweet souls just kissed by heaven and welcomed into our world....wow, I am still amazed and in awe everytime I get to hold a newborn. I think you appreciate a baby more when it's not your own, mainly bc you aren't sleep deprived and overwhelmed with anxiety about caring for your precious baby. I am rambling on.....only 2 hours sleep so far today. Anyway I actually get paid to do what I love. I hope you all have work that makes you feel as fulfilled and blessed as I am priveledged to have.

Warm, sunny,glorious days outside....playing for hours, without a care in the world....WHERE ARE YOU????!!! Look what's become of us since it's been so cold and wintery!! We need the sun and vitamin D before we completely loose it!!!

Well, it's done!!! Boy, nothing is as quick or easy as you think it will be!!!! Poor Mike did the whole backsplash......it was a lot of measuring and cutting and readjusting. Now I'm painting my hallway (something that should have been done 2yrs ago!!

Chase got guitar hero for Christmas this past year. On Christmas day he was new at it and a littly rusty......but since the next day he is a rock star at it!!! He picks things up soooo quickly and shines at them! Mike and I play too, but only on the easy level. It's fun though if you've never tried it. They even have rock of the 80's dude!

Well, here's my progress so far.....We still need to hang the backsplash, but it's shaping up.....I'll hopefully present the completed project soon!!
